Car Crashes Into Pet Store In Trumbull

A vehicle crashed into a pet store plowing all the way inside the building after the driver reportedly lost control, officials said.

The incident took place around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, April 14, at the Pet Valu store located at 37 Monroe Turnpike, said the Long Hill Volunteer on Facebook.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found a car inside the building with a driver who received only minor injuries, the department said.

The driver received only minor injuries, they added.

Crews on the scene checked the interior of the building and applied speedy dry to the vehicle that was leaking oil inside the structure and waited on the scene until a tow truck could remove the vehicle.

Officials from the Trumbull Building Department were also on the scene to check for structural damage, as well as Trumbull EMS in case of injuries.

The Trumbull Police Department is investigating the crash.
